In Absentia, In Effigie (Second Cast) is an anti-monument, a talisman. The artist's personal reference is the clay-pools which are common in Lorestan, Iran (where her family originates.) There, people cover themselves with running clay for rituals of mourning.

Bringing in pieces of events in the form of pictures, using the force of water, and adding a pinch of clay, this recalls (without pointing to any specific event) some tragic social-political moments of the recent decades which she experienced through internet and social media mostly.

Being in exile, the artist's ingredients are found-images from the internet and basic studio materials. A disparate effigie in absentia of bodies, questioning commercialization of personal stories, generalization of the minorities, and token-transformation of individuals in a mass-media generated citizenship.
